A force for good in Charlotte for over 100 Years
Being a member of the Kiwanis Club of Charlotte means being part of a diverse, active group of individuals who genuinely desire to make a positive impact on the community. Members support and encourage one another, building lasting friendships as they work together through hands-on service projects, philanthropic initiatives, and weekly discussion of important community issues.
The Kiwanis Club of Charlotte envisions a day in which our club's impact in the Charlotte community is widely known and clearly measurable. We will accomplish this through partnerships with community leaders, nonprofits and businesses that share our mission to improve the lives of children and families in the Metrolina Region.
Community Impact - Charitable Foundation
As a part of the Kiwanis International family, we join with thousands of clubs around the globe that are focused on serving the children of the world.
The Kiwanis Club of Charlotte, on behalf of the Charlotte Kiwanis Foundation annually awards funding to organizations in the Charlotte region that work to help the youth of Charlotte and the surrounding area. The foundation has supported activities that provide the opportunity for at-risk youth to attend Camp Grier. This is done through our signature event, our annual BBQ sale. In 2023, over $17,000 was provided to fund camp attendance. Additionally, another $20,000 was awarded to local organizations that work directly with youth literacy in and around the region. All studies point to the fact that without literacy, the cycle of poverty can not be overcome. Additionally, the foundation actively supports the Salvation Army and various other organizations throughout Charlotte actively impact our youth.
